About Ian Hemingway
Thank you for stopping in, I Hope you enjoy my work. Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, Ian now lives and works in Upstate New York. Hemingway works from both life and photographs, often of himself, as points of departure for explorations of memory and identity, both of which he lost in the aftermath of a motorcycle accident over a decade ago. His work often depicts a solitary figure, or a detail, captured in a fleeting moment, entirely removed from time and place. Figures are static, contemplative in posture and clad in both literal and figurative armours; it remains securely anonymous, revealed only in body language. hm... :) I really doubt that Your "book" is very short.... but it may be that You opened only the first few pages and read them over and over again :) If You let Your emotions aside and open other pages You will be just surprised! :) Good Luck Ian! :)

Hello Ian, Your expression in art has very deep lining to it....a lot of Your art shows the state of consciousness expressed through the body posture... and usually they are bend in ark, the center of which is the heart... our real being, the soul is in our chest... and it is like a book, only the record is electrical...so this painting is very loud about this...it's about soul book, all the experiences of our lives, not only current one... also this painting reminds me...once on a highway I saw a crash which caused death of a few people... and their bodies were on the road, but they themselves where not in them...after death we pop up in a next body, which has sort of a red - rust color (higher frequency)...and those beings were very confused, because all happened so fast...anyway... it feels like You had some very awakening experience too... and this made You focus on Your soul, or book of life...for this is as it feels is the leading theme of Your work...I am sure You are on a road of discovering many precious Gifts and Knowledge which will uplift You so much... All the Beautiful Wishes to You Ian! :) and Happy Coming Holidays! :)

Hi Elena!! Aww... thank you for such a thoughtful and sweet comment, that means the world to me dear! <3 "A Book of Life", I love that, and a beautiful metaphor. My soul is very much apart of my work, discovery... and my "book" is still very short, working on that with each new day! I love the way you think, feel, and see. You're beautiful, Elena!! Thank you again, and beautiful wishes to you as well, hope to hear from you again before then though!!!
